Original hand-painted and hand-glazed ceramic wall tiles
My tiles are inspired by the wonderful animal and plant life on the lakes by the old Cotswold mill we live in. The lakes buzz with dragonflies, water beetles, mayflies and other aquatic insects. There are swans, ducks and coots dabbling, nesting and quarrelling, with kingfishers dashing among them. Trout jump and splash while beneath the surface huge carp cruise and sunbathe, their scales catching the light. The lakes are fringed by flag irises, like a swarm of yellow butterflies, with reeds, bulrushes and willows framing the whole scene. I have painted tiles for 8 years after doing a tile painting at Stroud college. I continued with ceramics with Kerry von Schzock for a 3 further years, and now have my own kiln and work from home.
This site shows some examples of my work to give an idea of what I do. You may just want a few individual tiles, or want to consider larger panels, and you may have a particular scene or image in mind. Please ring me if you are interested and we can discuss the possibilities. Click here for information on ordering and prices.
